Proposed Competition dates for 2008, 2009 Competion Updates
Updates
August 2008
The 2nd August CSCA (MG) meet at Oran Park proved very quiet for our Club, One
lonely entrant in Patrick Townshend,
and was he brave, the wind was so strong and cold I took off and left him to
the event, he has youth on his side. He fulfilled the day with
a very respectable 1.27.41 his best for the day.
The next event if at Wakefield Park on 23 August run by (MOCA) will tell
you more about it next month, this will be followed by the TSOA
event at Wakefield Park on the 18th October as a training day and the 19th
as a supersprint, this will be followed by Sprite in November.
Don't forget the Tasman Revival series to be held November 28-29-30 at Eastern
Creek, should be a great event.
FoSC dates for 2009 are
Oran Park 23-24-25 th January 2009
Mount Panorama 10-11-12 April (Easter) practice and qualifying
will be on Friday 10th and racing will commence 8.30 am on the Saturday
morning.
Oran Park again on 24-25-26th July
Wakefield Park 30-31 October and 1st November.

July 2008
Well what a fantastic day our CSCA meet at Wakefield Park turned out to be,
fog in the early part of the day, turning into the most perfect of sunny winter
days.
The racing was terrific, below are the best personal times of the day for each
individual NSW AHOC member,
| Michael Branson |
Austin Healey |
1.28.32 |
| Greg Denning |
Austin Healey |
1.28.23 |

Austin Healey |
1.38.32 |
| Craig Sheppard |
Austin Healey |
1.26.70 |
| Peter Jackson |
Austin Healey |
1.13.73 |
All the above were ably assisted by a great contingent of Victorian AHOC members
Russel Baker, Greg Noonan, Geoff Leake and Rod Voght, all acquitting
themselves admirably Geoff Leake being the quickest with a 1.13.28.
I would personally like to thank John Dowsett, John Kent, Steve Clark and Anne
Read who all played a major part in the organising , prior to the event, and
the event, everything went off extremely smoothly. Now
not forgetting to thank the backbone of any event the actual volunteers who
manned the flag points, inspection of vehicles, marshalling, office and
the starter, to everyone a huge hug and many thanks.
The day was spoiled by two accidents, one a roll over, the driver ending up
with a fractured rib, and the other hitting the wall.
The next CSCA event is at Oran Park on the 2nd August, I have entry forms
and Supp. Regs should you want them contact me, or Steve Clark, and
they will be forwarded.
On the social side, Speed On Tweed will be the last on 20/ 21st September,
there is a group of us heading up there for a 7 day run, if you wish to join
us contact Patricia B or myself.

April 2008
Well another round of the CSCA and the Bathurst FoSC Easter meet have
passed and I had to miss them both, but from all accounts the Bathurst easter
meet was something special and I didn't hear a bad word spoken, huge roll up
around 460 entries, just being on the mountain is something else.
The last CSCA meet was at Oran Park conducted by MGCC Hunter, on this day we
only had one entry Cameron Sell and he acquitted himself very nicely being
second fastest on the day.
The next round of CSCA will be held on Saturday the 3rd May at Eastern Creek a
SuperSprint run by the Jaguar Club.
Please remember that our round is at Wakefield Park on the 28th June 2008,
volunteers are needed for flaggies and a variety of other tasks, please keep
this day open and assist, contact me with you name and phone number. Anne
Read is looking after the bookings for those who wish to stay at the Lilac
City Motel and there is a group meal on the Saturday evening.
The following day being Sunday 28th June, is the usual All British Day at Wakefield
Park and both of these days compliment one and other, and make for a great
week end in the cool country.

March 2008
Timidly I approached Oran Park Raceway, my first race meet as the Competition
Secretary. Once there I found that the only two of our members were getting
things together namely,
Patrick Townsend and Cameron Sell. Both were scrutinized and subsequently entered
the race arena.
Cameron only completed three laps and was having tyre problems so decided to
call it a day, Patrick completed
7 laps and his fastest was 1.29.57 which I thought was most admirable in a
Charger.
I do have the entry forms for the next CSCA event on 5th April and the Supp.Regs.
should any one require same.
please contact me on 0409323133.
By the way changes in the CAMS regs re Fire extinguishers, they are no longer
subjected to a time period
i.e. 6 years, or in the case of a race car 3 years, provided they are
in working condition they are OK.
Also secondary bonnet restraints are now in, on any front opening panel except
SupaKarts.
Till next time, Happy Healeying

January 2008
Hi all My first official effort for the Competition side of life, whilst
I was away enjoying Tasmania, the Club lotus Super Sprint was being organised for
the 1st March 2008 at Oran Park and my clever assistant Steve Clark got
the Sup. Regs out to those interested.
All being well I will attend the meeting and be able to give a better overall
picture in the next magazine, of the proceedings.
My wife tells me that a trip up to Speed On Tweed in September is being prepared,
should be a few great days away, think about it.
For those not going to the Rally, then a trip to Bathurst for FOSCA on the
Mountain certainly should be something to see, we have had a number of entries
accepted , at this stage our President Steve Shepard, Cameron Sell,
I think Peter Jackson a few good pushers to start with. Go
and give them support.
Till next month,
Happy Healeying
